Welcome !

My name is Jennifer. I have always really loved pictures but have just recently discovered my love for photography. I enjoy photographing just about anything so there is a random assortment of people, animals, plant life, and whatever catches my eye on here! I am also currently doing a project that requires I take at least one picture a day. I hope to push myself to learn and try new things!

Montana

It's been a while since I really got to photograph someone other than my family! I was excited (and a bit nervous!) to take some pictures of our family friends Katie, Gale, and their beautiful daughter Montana. They do so much for our family and I hope that I was able to do a little something for them.

Montana has a smile that can light up a room! She is fast and crazy to keep up with though! Man, I was sore for a couple days running after her. I think the photos I got made it totally worth it though! I can't wait to take more pictures for them!

Here is a sneak peek at the photos I was able to capture for them. There are quite a few of them here! Thanks for waiting so long. Hope you like them Katie and Gale!

I started out with them on the playground:

Montana has the most beautiful hair

Fun!

Doesn't she have the most adorable dimples? Her smile is just so contagious

There is just something I really like about this one

After the playground Montana and I ran over to the shore of the river:

I love detail shots

Drawing in the sand

Eye contact and a smile! Perfect score!

The family!

Amanda's Graduation Party

One of my two best friends, Amanda, had her graduation party a couple weeks ago and her cousin Dahli that has been asking me for pictures, so we took some! I still plan on doing a session with them soon!

Amanda's mom's dog, Yoda:

Dahli and her two kids (Oh, and Pom Pom!):

And just because some times you just have to be silly:

Sometimes you just need to take a break, ya know?

I have been feeling kind of down about my photography lately, and it has definitely made me fall behind. I have decided that my "Picture a Day" project has served its purpose and I am having a hard time keeping up with it. Maybe someday I will pick it up again when I am feeling inspired , but for now I will just share whatever speaks to me. Just random whatever-ness. Oh, and pictures of people!

I have a couple families that I plan on taking pictures for in the next couple weeks, but if anyone else I know wants pictures, let me know! I need all the practice I can get!

Day One Hundred Fifty Eight

I am happy with a few of the fireworks shots I got on the Fourth of July. They are hard to get a decent picture of!

One Hundred Fifty Nine

One Hundred Sixty

Super cute belly button.

One Hundred Sixty One

They just melt my heart.

One Hundred Sixty Two

From our second anniversary dinner at Melting Pot!

One Hundred Sixty Three

One Hundred Sixty Four

This is my family's kitty, Ginger. We have had her since I was in middle school. She is such an old lady now.

One Hundred Sixty Five

Since it is so difficult to get a decent picture of Ginger, I am posting two of them. I LOVE this one.

Picture a day

Time to play catch up! I have just not had any time to edit or post pictures this past month, so I am gonna try and catch up on my picture a day project. I had grand jury duty and then Mario's mom came in this past week. No time! Terrible excuses, I know.

Grand jury was a great experience. It took up two days a week for eight hours and was emotionally draining. However, I left with a greater sense of faith in my community and the law enforcement here. They are amazing.

Anyways, on with the pictures!

Day One Hundred Fifty One

my favorite (and toughest!) subject.

Day One Hundred Fifty Two

Isn't that little tuft if hair on his head neat? I wonder if that is something that species of duck normally has, or if only he has it?

Day One Hundred Fifty Three

I just love this park we found recently! I need to get some models over here!

Day One Hundred Fifty Four

One of the native to Oregon flowers that I planted this spring. I am quite proud of them, LOL.

Day One Hundred Fifty Five

Another flower from the ones I planted as seeds this spring.

Day One Hundred Fifty Six

I just think this picture is hilarious!

Day One Hundred Fifty Seven

She loves Jamba Juice! She took over my drink.

Just a Little Sneak Peek!

I finally had the chance to get out and practice again! I know I am behind on my Picture of the Day project, but I will get back to that later.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking some family photos for my friend Amanda. Thanks guys! I need tons more practice, so if you want more pictures you know my number! I will try to have a few more for you all soon.

Picture of the Day

Day One Hundred Forty Six

This is an older picture from last month. I think this duck has pretty coloring.

Day One Hundred Forty Seven

This is also a picture form last month that I didn't have the opportunity to share yet. I just love spring when the ducks and geese have their babies! Aren't they adorable?

Day One Hundred Forty Eight

I love this picture! It's from my mom's birthday.

Day One Hundred Forty Nine

We found a fantastic new park that I am so excited to go take more pictures at! I was taking a picture of these flowers and this little guy landed right on them!

Day One Hundred Fifty

So this is not a terribly interesting photo, but it has a purpose. One of the first basic rules in photography says that if you are unsure of what settings to use to get a proper exposure you should set your ISO and shutter speed at 100, then put your aperture at f/16. It's called the f/16 rule. It worked! This picture came out perfectly exposed!

About Me

My photo
I'm a 29 year old wife and mommy, but that's not my identity! I love photography and reading and sometimes cooking. I love pictures, and that's why you'll see the covers of books posted as large as I can get away with. I'm silly and quirky and I like to think I'm generally a nice person. Welcome to my blog!

Thanks for looking!
